Daily target by total duration, not session count

Tamas Perlaky
I have a lot of variation in my session lengths, from 10 minutes up to 120 minutes in some cases. This means my number of daily sessions can be quite variable. I would like to set a daily time/duration target (e.g. 6 hours) rather than a session target (e.g. 8 sessions).

goal setting + notify when goal is reached!
monkeyonthelamppost
Would like the ability to set a focus duration "goal" for categories (per day) & be notified when goal time in that category is reached for the day. Please make this happen!
Thank you for the amazing app btw.

Finished sessions should have color of the session category
Kanstantsin Zakharchanka
On the main "Session" screen, above the "What's your focus?" text, there are dots representing completed sessions. I think these dots should be colored according to the category of each finished session. As shown in the first screenshot, my current category is green, but not all the dots at the top should be green, as some of them belong to different categories.
In the second screenshot is my attempt to visualize, how it should be.

I would love this and also would absolutely go for weekly and monthly goals

Hours as a daily target
Eldar
Hi! I'd like to have an option to choose between the number and hours for the daily streak target. I sometimes have/add smaller sessions (10-15 min in comparison to standard 25 min sessions), and they count as streaks too, which is not what I quite want. Also, it would be nice to see the daily goal in the widgets

Time-based streak v session-based streak

I use this app at work to keep me focused and keep a record of how I'm spending my time. I love having a daily goal, but I would find it more helpful if I could set a goal for amount of time spent in focus rather than number of focus sessions. I often change the length of my sessions depending on the task I'm working on and how long I think it will take me to complete it. If I do a large number of short tasks, the app will tell me that I've hit my goal for the day, even if I've only worked for a couple of hours. Ideally, the app would be able to tell me when I've put in a certain number of hours of work.

I agree. I plan to implement this for a very long time, but still swamped due to various issues.

I love that! I feel like I'd ideally like the opportunity to set the intention of which ones I plan to work on today, and review how long I plan to spend on them (kind of like my morning Bullet Journal routine where I set my intentions for the day), but even this todo list with times allows me to do that as long as I don't fill it up with "future work"
Philip Young
Joe Marty: yeah I don't plan this feature to be a task manager. It concern just for "today".

Philip Young Ahh, I see, so basically it would reset to a blank slate at the beginning of each day? (and I could go back to the previous day to see what I had left on my list the day before, maybe?) That sounds great for what I would use it for! (although the original post from BOGDAN BOGDAN does mention "amount of time I'm going to spend ... this week" so it may not quite satisfy their ideal workflow)

Prototype I made years ago that have this functionality http://session.philipyoungg.com
[up/down] key to navigate
• [return] to edit
• [space] to add new todo
• type 2h / 30m for duration
